Tanssin koulutuksen kevään viimeiset esitykset tapahtuvat Outokummun Vanhan Kaivoksen ympäristössä perjantaina 25.5 ja lauantaina 26.5, jolloin koreografi Mimi Jeong ja tanssin ensinmmäisen vuosikurssin opiskelijat esittävät tilalähtöisen teoksensa Track 0. Tanssin koulutus ilmoittaa esityksen tarkan lähtöpaikan lähempänä tapahtumaa Facebook-tapahtumassa.

Colour theory is the key inspiration of Track 0. Here we create relations between dancing bodies in their characters and different qualities of colours. In this process, the dancers will sometimes experience the colours with an emotional tone or as an input for their interpretation of movement. We will work on questions such as: What is a chromatic and an achromatic body? How is the contrast between variations on a tinted emotion and on a shaded emotion?

We will as well explore the elements growing out of the communication between colours and movement. The dancers’ relations and their own individual history will also be worked in a dialogue with the old mine, which also has a strong history we can reflect to. The dancers will explore the specific performing qualities induced by the space they are in, as well as by working alternately in groups or as individuals.

We invite the audience to experience this performance freely and wish that every person seeing our project will construct its own and very personal path through this site-specific journey.

“We are able to hear a single tone. But we almost never (that is, without special devices) see a single colour unconnected and unrelated to other colours. Colours present themselves in continuous flux, constantly related to changing neighbours and changing conditions.

As a consequence, this proves for the reading of colour what Kandinsky often demanded for the reading of art: what counts is not the what but how.” - Josef Albers “Interaction of Colour"
